Within the EGNw structure, these terms are used interchangeably.
In some countries outside North America, the title of supervisor is utilized to acknowledge those providing EMDR consultation to trainees and those pursuing verification. In North America, the relationship of a supervisor in this context holds bearing on legal licensing in a state or region, therefore the title consultant is used.

How do I become an EMDR Senior Consultant?
EMDR Senior Consultant must have become a EMDR Verified Consultant and fulfill the following requirements:
Documentation needed to begin the verification process
- Proof of Licensure as a Mental Health Professional
- Proof of EGNw EMDR Verified Consultant
- Proof you have completed a minimum of 500 hours of client sessions post-Basic Training
- Proof of having offered 100 hours of consultancy to other EMDR therapists after having become a EGNw EMDR Verified Consultant
- Live evaluation of three cases where the candidate gives the consultation orientation and guidelines
- Proof of 12 (twelve) Advanced Credits recognized by EGNw completed in the last two years
- Pay the verification fee
To Maintain Verification:
- Maintain EGNw membership
- Maintain mental health license or equivalent in your state/country
- Declaration/Proof of 12 (twelve) EMDR/AIP Advanced Credits or have proof of presenting an advanced training every two years
- Not have received proven ethical complaints of misconduct

EMDR Senior Consultant RENEWAL
EMDR Senior Consultant must have become an EMDR Verified Consultant and fulfill the following requirements:
To Maintain Verification:
- Maintain EGNw membership
- Maintain mental health license or equivalent in your state/country
- Declaration/Proof of 12 (twelve) EMDR/AIP Advanced Credits or have proof of presenting an advanced training every two years
- Not have received proven ethical complaints of misconduct.
