How do I become an EMDR Senior Psychotherapist?

An EMDR Verified Psychotherapist trained by an institution recognized by EGNetwork and with a recognized EMDR certificate can apply to become a EMDR Senior Psychotherapist.

Documented proof will be need to be prepared and accessible in digital format (.pdf, .doc, .docx) for upload prior to beginning the verification process.

  • Be an EMDR Verified (Certified/Accredited) Psychotherapist for 5 years  
  • Transcription/recording of 2 (two) EMDR sessions with explanations of the case history and management, with consultation with an EMDR Verified Consultant.
  • Documentation of receiving 10 (ten) hours of additional case consultation by a, EMDR Verified Consultant, group or individual. This includes reviewing your transcribed/recorded EMDR sessions (see above).
  •  Participation in a global peer consultation group (EGNetwork members) for 5 hours. These hours may be part of the above case consultation time if a Consultant is present.  
  • Proof of 500 (five hundred) additional clinical sessions
  • Declaration/Proof of 12 (twelve) Advanced Credits recognized by EGNetwork taken in the last two years
  • Contribution work 20 (twenty hours of volunteerism and/or benevolent (unpaid) program/workshop development to help either expand EMDR and AIP-informed interventions accessible in your own country or abroad. This may include assisting with training, helping NGO’s, leading an EGNetwork Global Peer Consultation Group; serving on an EGNetwork Global Committee, etc.
  • Pay the Senior Psychotherapist fee 

To Maintain Verification:

  • Keep verification up to date with EGNetwork
  •  Maintain mental health practitioner licensure or equivalent in your country
  • Maintain licensure ethics, including the absence of proven ethical complaints of misconduct
  • Contribution of 10 (ten) hours of volunteerism and/or benevolent (unpaid) program/workshop development to help either expand EMDR and AIP-informed interventions accessible in your own country or abroad. This may include assisting with training, helping NGO’s, leading an EGNetwork Global Peer Consultation Group, serving on an EGNetwork Global Committee, etc.
