How do I become an EMDR Senior Psychotherapist?
An EMDR Verified Psychotherapist trained by an institution recognized by EGNw and with a recognized EMDR certificate can apply to become a EMDR Senior Psychotherapist.
Documented proof will be need to be prepared and accessible in digital format (.pdf, .doc, .docx) for upload prior to beginning the verification process.
- Be an EMDR Verified (Certified/Accredited) Psychotherapist for 5 years
- Documentation of receiving 10 hours of additional case consultation by a verified consultant, group or individual
- Proof of 500 (five hundred) additional clinical sessions
- Transcription/recording of 2 (two) EMDR sessions with explanations of the case history and management
- Declaration/Proof of 12 (twelve) Advanced Credits recognized by EGNw taken in the last two years
- Notarized declaration that you have pursued you own therapy, preferably EMDR, as a client
- Proof of 20 (twenty) hours of volunteerism to help either expand EMDR accessibility in their own country or abroad – this can include training, helping NGO’s, etc
- Pay the Senior Psychotherapist fee
- Optional: Participation in a global peer consultation group (EGNw members)
To Maintain Verification:
- Keep verification up to date with EGNw
- Maintain mental health practitioner licensure or equivalent in your country
- Proof of 12 Advanced Credits in the past 2 (two) years
- Maintain licensure ethics, including the absence of proven ethical complaints of misconduct
